Worship at Trinity United Methodist Church is designed to be an exciting time to enter into community in our faith family while sharing in our offering of love, thanks and praise to God who loves us! We seek to make worship accessible to people of all backgrounds and hope that through traditional and contemporary means we can each find a new path to a greater connection with God through Christ.

For most of Smithfield’s history, Sunday mornings have meant Sunday School and Church service and, as church bells pealed, almost all of Smithfield has attended one of the downtown churches. Until recently, Trinity, like most other churches, offered one church service on Sunday mornings, the traditional 11 o’clock service. But, as our population has become more diverse and needs have changed, Trinity has changed too and we now offer three Sunday morning services including the contemporary Rivers of Life service held in the Family Activity Center. While there are some differences among the services, all celebrate and worship through prayer, message, and music, with the congregation participating in many aspects of the service.
